WHAT ARE THE LEARNINGS OUT OF THE CORONA CRISIS?

Recently, I asked myself what is the learning out of the recent crisis we are still a part of it? It is the end of the year and the beginning of a new year, so the perfect time to reflect a little on this. Unfortunately and although I was not a part of the Swiss Federal Taskforce, I couldn’t find enough time to write a book like our health minister. My conclusion is much shorter and a bit more philosophical.

When we face a crises, a space of possibility opens up as well. We suffer losses that we believed were impossible to bear. But it can also happen that what we are lacking is suddenly not really lacking. That we're confused because we didn't really need what we felt terribly dependent on. We learn that we can do things differently. This creates a moment of real freedom, within ourselves.

Or we embitter. Put us in hatred and anger and defenses and go crazy. People who do not feel at home in the world (and in themselves) fall back into an infantile defiant phase. They refuse to acknowledge the reality of a crisis. Or they use the crisis to stage their fears and they want to shine with it.

Crisis is a bit like grief. It has different phases: Denial, ignorance, rage and anger. Finally acceptance, negotiation and a new beginning. That is the self-reinvention in a changed reality, the self-transformation towards the future. But how far are we with that and how far can we go?

To understand this question better, it is about understanding contexts, which is development work. A slow and thorough activity. The division of labor and the specialization and automation that have been driven further and further for centuries has brought us enormous prosperity, but has also robbed us of an overview of our lives, and thus of our ability to act accordingly.

We overcome fear when we accept it, which leads us to grow beyond our fear. This creates gratitude for what we have. We are rediscovering what we may have neglected so far and we start to see the world with new eyes.

A crisis like Corona may contribute to clarify who and what is really important in our lives. It rearranges our network of relationships. We are leaving those with whom we have long been trapped in a mental lockdown. We check what really binds us, which can also apply to the world of work. Suddenly, we are sitting across from the boss in a T-Shirt. That clears up a lot and clarification is the essence of the crisis. And finally friendship is the social synthesis between freedom and bond.

Therefore, I am matchless happy to be a part of our great Caminovation Club network and I thank you so much for your contribution to make it what it is. A fantastic community with amazing people of outstanding friendships, surrounded with excellent conversations, accompanied with pleasant cigars, fogged within dreamful smoke.

I wish you unlimited Happiness for the new year on the base of excellent health for you and your families.
